1. Founded in 1994, the company has been a leader in network marketing and essential essential oils for 29 years.
In 1989, Young Living founder D. Gary Young planted the first lavender seeds on an acre of land in Spokane, Washington. Five years later, Gary and Mary Young moved their company, Young Living Essential Oils, to Riverton, Utah, and later to their permanent home in Lehi. 6. 23 company-owned and partner farms
Bella Vista Farm is the latest addition to the Young Living family, located in Reggio Calabria, Italy. This farm produces bergamot essential essential essential oil.
In 2018, the Vida de Seville distillery in Spain and the Labbeemint Partner distillery in Washington, DC joined the Young Living partner farms. Vida de Seville produces balsamic essential oils of succulent, frankincense and myrrh, and Labbeemint distills essential oils of frankincense and peppermint.
Young Living has a number of owned and partner farms around the world. Its farms can be found in Canada, Ecuador, Oman, the Philippines, Taiwan, Australia, France, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, Croatia and South Africa.

Our quality control team uses a range of physical, chemical and microbiological scientific tests to accurately measure the ingredients and properties of our essential oils. Each test is repeated several times throughout the quality process. Testing begins on our farms and continues through to the final stages before we ship to our customers.
Our team of highly trained, highly qualified scientists perform state-of-the-art testing, including but not limited to:
- inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS)
- Inductively coupled plasma-atomic optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES)
- Gas chromatography (GC)
- High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)
- Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy

- Isotope ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS)
Although our laboratories can perform all of these tests, we regularly use third party laboratories to complement our in-house testing. These laboratories all have highly qualified and skilled scientists.
